A Hackerspace of Our Own

Ada-Space-Circles

AdaSpace exists to provide a safe, supportive environment for women to make, learn and grow.We are Rochester’s hackerspace for women, operating out of Interlock Rochester. Consider becoming a member to experience all we have to offer:

  • Space outside your home/apartment/dorm room to stretch out and make. Thanks to a generous arrangement with Interlock, we get the facility and tools to ourselves while we gather the resources necessary to have our own space.
  • The opportunity to work in a collaborative, supportive space organized by other women. This is a place where it is perfectly okay not to know, and to try something new.
  • A network of people to lean on when you want to learn something new. We have members from all walks of life, and our circles extend even further. If there’s something you want to learn, we can find someone to help.
  • Family-friendly environment, regardless of what your family looks like. Whether it means sharing childcare during an event or lending an ear when you’re having a tough night, we get it. It’s tough having a family and carving out a spot for yourself.

What do we do?

Open Hack Saturday

One Saturday a quarter we get together and open up to the community. Family, friends, complete strangers – all are welcome. Participate in a themed activity (or bring your own project) and check out what we have to offer!

Weekly Hack Nights

Thursday nights we get stuff done. First person to hook up to speakers plays some tunes, snacks hit the table, and everyone works on their own projects.  One Thursday a month we talk business as we work.

We’re on Meetup
